Stella Smart FAQ - AI FAQ Generator & FAQ Schema Plugin for WordPress

Stella Smart FAQ is an AI‑powered FAQ system for WordPress that generates, manages, and displays FAQs with automatic FAQPage JSON‑LD schema. This guide covers both the Free plugin and the Pro extension with step‑by‑step setup, detailed feature behavior, and field explanations.

1) Installation

Free Version

You can install the Free plugin using either method below.

Method 1: Install from WordPress Plugin Directory

  1. In WordPress Admin, go to Plugins > Add New.
  2. Search for Stella Smart FAQ.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

Method 2: Upload ZIP File Manually

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  2. Upload the stella-smart-faq.zip file.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

After Activation

  1. A Stella Smart FAQ menu will appear in your WordPress admin sidebar.
  2. Go to Stella Smart FAQ > Settings to configure your AI provider.
  3. Go to Stella Smart FAQ > Dashboard to scan for FAQ opportunities.
  4. Edit any post/page to generate FAQs using the Stella FAQ meta box.

Pro Version (Extension)

  1. Install and activate the Free plugin first.
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload stella-smart-faq-pro.zip.
  4. Click Install Now, then Activate.

Important: Pro is an extension. The Free plugin must be active.

2) Quick Start

Quick Start (Free)

  1. Go to Stella Smart FAQ > Settings.
  2. Choose an AI Provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenRouter).
  3. Enter your API Key.
  4. Click Fetch Models to load available models.
  5. Select a Model, then click Test Connection.
  6. Edit a post or page and open the Stella FAQ meta box.
  7. Click Generate AI FAQs.
  8. Insert FAQs using shortcode or Gutenberg block.

Quick Start (Pro)

  1. Go to Stella Smart FAQ > Pro Tools.
  2. Use Bulk Generation, Topic Generator, or URL Generator.
  3. Enable WooCommerce FAQ placement if needed.
  4. Add the Elementor widget on pages (when Elementor is active).

5) Field‑by‑Field Settings Guide

A) AI Provider Settings (Free)

  • AI Provider: Choose OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or OpenRouter.
  • API Key: Your provider API key.
  • Fetch Models: Loads available models.
  • Model: Select which model to use.
  • Test Connection: Verifies the API works.

B) Generation Settings (Free)

  • Default FAQ Limit: Global default number of FAQs per post.
  • Custom Prompt: Optional extra instructions.
  • Max Tokens: AI output limit.
  • Max Input Characters: Controls text length sent to AI.

C) Display Settings (Free)

  • FAQs Per Page: Pagination or infinite scroll.
  • Accent Color: Color picker for FAQ UI.

D) Pro: FAQ Generator Targets

  • Enable FAQ Generator For: Posts, Pages, Products, Custom Post Types.

E) WooCommerce Settings (Pro)

  • Enable WooCommerce FAQ section
  • Placement: After summary / After add to cart / Tab

6) Using the FAQ Generator in Posts/Pages/Products

  1. Edit a post, page, or product.
  2. Open the Stella FAQ meta box.
  3. Set FAQ Limit (this post) to override global default.
  4. Optional: select a FAQ Category (Pro).
  5. Click Generate AI FAQs.
  6. Review FAQs in the FAQ library.

7) Displaying FAQs on the Frontend

Gutenberg Block

Add the Stella FAQ Block and choose a layout in block settings. Pro layouts appear when Pro is active.

8) FAQ Categories (Pro)

  1. Go to Stella Smart FAQ > FAQ Categories.
  2. Create categories.
  3. Assign categories to FAQs.
  4. Filter via shortcode: [stella_faq category="slug"]

9) Bulk Generation (Pro)

  1. Go to Stella Smart FAQ > Pro Tools.
  2. Choose scope: all posts, category, selected IDs.
  3. Set max posts (0 = unlimited).
  4. Confirm checkbox.
  5. Run generation.

10) Topic & URL Generators (Pro)

Topic Generator

  1. Go to Pro Tools > FAQ Generator from Topic.
  2. Enter a topic.
  3. Generate and add FAQs.

URL Generator

  1. Go to Pro Tools > URL FAQ Generator.
  2. Enter URL.
  3. Generate and add FAQs.

11) Analytics & Unanswered Questions

  • Dashboard logs searches with no results.
  • Generate FAQs directly from unanswered terms.
  • Pro includes trend charts (engagement, search, etc.).

12) Import / Export (Pro)

Export

  • Choose CSV or JSON and download FAQs.

Import

  • Upload a CSV/JSON file.
  • Optionally skip duplicates.
  • Import summary is displayed after upload.

13) Troubleshooting

  • AI connection fails: Verify API key, model, and credits. Use Test Connection.
  • No FAQs generated: Check that content exists and increase Max Input Characters.
  • Schema not visible: Ensure shortcode/block is on the page and test with Google Rich Results.

14) Data & Uninstall

  • Free uninstall removes FAQ analytics table and settings.
  • Pro uninstall removes Pro analytics table.
  • FAQs can be deleted manually if needed.

15) Recommended Workflow

  1. Set provider, key, and model.
  2. Generate FAQs on key pages.
  3. Review and edit FAQ answers.
  4. Monitor unanswered questions.
  5. Use Pro tools for bulk automation and advanced layouts.
